Metamorphic
rock is rock that has undergone transformation by heat pressure, or other natural agents, e.g., in the folding of strata or nearby intrusion of
igneous rocks. Metamorphic rocks can be divided into two primary classifications; cataclastic and recrystallized. Cataclastic rock is formed due to mechanical pressures, while recrystallized rock is formed due to metamorphic or thermal forces.
