Sandstone

is a sedimentary rock consisting of sand or quartz grains cemented together, typically red, yellow, or brown in color. The essential elements of the grain structure are feldspar, quartz, and rock particles. The color of sandstone is generally brown, buff, red, or grey, but other colors may be found. Because it is more easily cut and shaped, sandstone is commonly used as a building stone.
