Natural Stone Tile

Natural stone tile

is a luxurious way to enhance the appearance of any home or building's interior spaces. Many popular stone materials used for tile include marble, granite, slate, limestone, travertine; and for the truly decadent, onyx. Tile is a versatile building material, but some of it's more common uses are realized in the kitchen and bathroom.

Marble tile

has always been used for its beautiful patterns and rich appearance. The most popular application for this stone is in bathroom flooring, walls, showers, and backsplashes. Marble is considered a soft stone when compared to granite, but it's still quite durable. The main concerns with marble are staining and scratching by abrasive materials or acidic fluids. Modern sealants can help ease these concerns to an extent.

Granite tile

has widely been used for its durability and resistance to scratching and staining. While being tough on the inside, granite still maintains an array of rich colors and beautifully grained patterns. It's an excellent choice for flooring, kitchen countertops, fireplaces, bathroom walls, showers, and ceilings.

Slate tile

is popular for having rustic colors and rich textures, while maintaining strength. It is typically more economical than marble and granite. Slate tile is mainly used for flooring, backsplashes, walls, showers, fireplaces, and even roofing.

Travertine tile

is in big demand these days for flooring, showers, and backsplashes. Due to its cosmetic appeal, travertine can be priced as much as granite. Though highly durable, it may suffer from scratching due to the fact that it is a limestone.
